When we pray - God works
What is a Neighborhood Lighthouse of Prayer?
A Lighthouse of Prayer is a person, family or group who comitt to pray for their neighbors, co-workers, schoolmates and/or friends as God directs. A Lighthouse of Prayer
is not a program. It's a process by which believers are able to impact their neighbors and their communities through
ministries of praying, caring, and sharing. Lighthouses follow the pattern of Luke 10:5-9, where Jesus
gives instructions on sharing the good news.
Think about this...Many people who live and work around you every day do not have a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. As a result, they will spend eternity without Him. But God has a mission for YOU as a
Lighthouse-a beacon of God's loving light touching your neighbors right from where you are!
You can tailor your Lighthouse to fit your style of praying with those you invite to pray with you. You
can pray for as many as you choose, target whom you wish, and proceed at your own pace. The key to a successful Neighborhood
Lighthouse of Prayer is earnest prayer and availability to God.

PHASE I: PRAYING...WITH GOD'S POWER
"Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
Establish a "Perimeter of Faith" and "Speak Peace" (Luke 10:5)
A Perimeter of faith is a territory you'll commit to praying over daily. It could be either your neighborhood or you
workplace. Start by asking God to help you determine the number of peole He wants you to influence personally. Then ask
God for the faith to do it. Decide whom you will pray for and whom you will pray with.
Initiate the Power of Five (5):
Start by simply praying 5 blessings for 5 neighbors, 5 minutes, a day, 5 days a week,
for 5 weeks. Consider using the acrostic "bless" as a way to cover in prayer 5 important areas related to the lives
of your neighbors.
B Body-health, protection, strength
L Labor-work, income, security
E Emotional-joy, peace, hope
S Social-love, marriage, family, friends
S Spiritual-salvation, faith, grace

PHASE II: CARING...WITH GOD'S LOVE!
"...I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone...This is good and it pleases
God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved."
Establish relationships with the people for whom your're praying
PHASE III: SHARING...WITH GOD'S GRACE!
"...Love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12:31
